Discovery House launches annual fall auction fundraiser in Penticton
Discovery House in Penticton has launched its annual fall auction fundraiser to support its recovery programs. The event features various donated items from local businesses and community members, including helicopter rides, ski passes from Revelstoke, and sports memorabilia.
To date, the auction has raised more than $7,500. All proceeds are designated to fund Discovery House services, such as individual and group counseling, mental health and wellness supports, life-skills development, and employment assistance. Executive Director Brent Rowland noted that the organization has received a record number of donations this year.
Bidding remains open until October 21 at 12 p.m. The organization relies on these community fundraisers due to limited funding from local and provincial governments.
