Disney and Google pick AI startups for 2026 accelerator programmes
The Disney Accelerator has selected five AI startups for its 2026 cohort: FieldAI, which builds foundation models for robots to operate safely without maps or GPS; Physical Intelligence, developing general‑purpose AI for the physical world; Promise, an AI‑native studio creating films, series and visual effects; OpenArt, a generative‑AI platform for fan‑engagement; and Simile, which provides AI‑based simulation for consumer insights. Over four months the companies receive investment capital and collaboration with Disney leaders, culminating in a demo day on the Walt Disney Studio Lot in Burbank, California, in early November. "Each year, this program endeavors to raise the bar of what is possible for the future of Disney experiences," said Bonnie Rosen, general manager of the Disney Accelerator.
Google Play Accelerator launched its 2026 edition, choosing 20 Indian AI‑focused app developers across sectors such as education, healthcare, gaming, agriculture, finance, e‑commerce, productivity, lifestyle and entertainment. The three‑month mentorship provides advanced tools, AI scaling, performance audits and market‑ready support, building on the success of alumni like Toonsutra and Vidyakul.
