Disney+ and Hulu announce new Italian mystery series set at Lake Garda

Disney+ and Hulu have greenlit a new Italian original series, tentatively titled ‘Delitto sul Lago di Garda’. Based on the Sunday Times bestseller ‘Murder on Lake Garda’ by Tom Hindle, the six-episode mystery is currently in production.

The plot centers on an exclusive wedding held on a private island at Lake Garda between heir Leopoldo Vigevani and influencer Eva Bianchi. The event turns into a crime scene when a body is discovered on the beach, prompting an aspiring journalist named Lara to investigate the secrets of the wealthy Vigevani family.

Produced by The Apartment, a Fremantle company, the series is directed by Laura Bispuri and written by a team including Alessandro Fabbri, Ilaria Macchia, Gianluca Bernardini, and Laura Colella. The cast features Carlotta Antonelli, Francesco Gheghi, Saul Nanni, Matilde Gioli, and Margherita Buy. While a specific release date has not been confirmed, the series is expected to arrive on streaming platforms around 2027.
