Marvel Cinematic Universe nears $35 billion global box office milestone

The entertainment industry is preparing for several major releases and platform updates in late 2026. This follows the success of 'Spider-Man: A New Day', which earned $2.2 billion.

In anticipation of the new film, a special edition titled 'Avengers: Endgame Encore' is returning to theaters in September 2026. This version features approximately four minutes of additional content and enhanced visual saturation. While Disney has not officially confirmed a streaming date, internal Disney+ database entries for the 'Encore' version have already been detected in markets including the US, UK, and France.

Streaming platforms are also updating their catalogs and features. Netflix has announced a diverse lineup for September 2026, including 'Magnatas do Crime' Season 2, 'Stranger Things: Stories of 85' Season 2, and 'JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run'. Additionally, Netflix has launched a new vertical video feed called 'Clips' in Portugal, similar to TikTok, to improve content discovery on mobile devices.

Disney+ is also scheduled to release new titles in September, such as 'Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu' and the second season of 'Chad Powers: The Quarterback'. Meanwhile, Prime Video continues to feature notable 2026 titles like 'The Drama' and 'Hokum: The Witch's Nightmare'.
