Disney and Netflix sign expansive content licensing agreement

Disney Entertainment and Netflix have entered into an expansive, non-exclusive content licensing agreement that will bring a variety of Disney-owned films and television series to the Netflix platform. The deal includes Disney+ originals, 20th Century Studios productions, and titles from Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Starting October 4, 2026, the first wave of content will include the first two seasons of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ and all five ‘Ice Age’ films, both available globally for a three-month promotional window. This timing is intended to build momentum for the upcoming third season of ‘Percy Jackson’ on Disney+ (November 20) and the theatrical release of ‘Ice Age: Boiling Point’ (February 5, 2027).

Other scheduled releases include the first four seasons of ‘Will Trent’ on November 3, and the series ‘Shifting Gears’ and ‘Tracker’ in late 2026 and early 2027. Additionally, Pixar films such as ‘Soul’, ‘Elio’, and ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’ are expected to arrive on Netflix in early 2027. All licensed titles will remain available on Disney+ and Hulu during their tenure on Netflix.
