Disney+ and NHL sign five-year streaming deal for Sweden and Finland

Disney+ and the National Hockey League (NHL) have entered into a five-year agreement to bring live NHL coverage to subscribers in Sweden and Finland beginning with the 2026/27 season.

Under the deal, games will stream live via ESPN on Disney+, providing access to live broadcasts, studio shows, and original programming. In Finland, select games will also be available on Star Channel. The agreement includes 160 regular-season games, featuring 50 games scheduled during Nordic primetime, as well as 20 playoff games from the first and second rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Both the Conference Final and the Stanley Cup Final are included as shared rights.

This partnership is part of Disney+’s ongoing expansion of live sports offerings in Europe, which already includes coverage of the NFL, UEFA competitions, and LaLiga in various Nordic markets.
