Disney and Star Wars updates involve streaming shifts and series news

Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro addressed investor concerns regarding the box office performance of ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu,’ noting that the film has driven higher-than-average toy sales. Additionally, Disney is exploring new streaming strategies, including TikTok integrations and ad-supported services.

Regarding upcoming Star Wars content, anticipation is building for the Disney Studio Showcase at D23. Expectations include updates from Lucasfilm, potentially featuring Dave Filoni and Rosario Dawson discussing the second season of ‘Ahsoka,’ which is slated for early 2027.

In terms of existing series, actor Ewan McGregor confirmed that a second season of ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ is not currently in development. While McGregor and Hayden Christensen remain interested in continuing the story, no official progress has been made by Disney to move the project forward.
