Disney to host D23 fan event in Anaheim this August

Disney is preparing for its biennial D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, scheduled to take place from August 14-16 in Anaheim, California. The convention will utilize the Anaheim Convention Center for panels and exhibitions, while large-scale showcases will be held at the Honda Center.

The event serves as a major platform for announcements across Disney’s vast portfolio, including Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and National Geographic. Key areas of interest include updates on theme parks, cruise lines, and upcoming film and television projects.

Anticipated highlights include potential footage or announcements regarding Star Wars projects, such as Ahsoka season two and new theatrical films, as well as updates on the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including X-Men and Avengers: Doomsday. Other scheduled programming features celebrations for franchises like Kingdom Hearts, The Muppets, and Disney classics, alongside the annual Disney Legends induction ceremony.
