Disney confirms Angel's debut in ‘Lilo & Stitch 2’ sequel
Disney has revealed new details for the live-action sequel ‘Lilo & Stitch 2’ during the D23 fan event. The studio confirmed that the film will feature the debut of Angel, also known as Experiment 624, a pink alien and the romantic interest of Stitch. Angel was originally introduced in ‘Lilo & Stitch: The Series’ and is known for her siren-like song that can influence the behavior of other experiments.
Maia Kealoha, who portrays Lilo, appeared on stage to introduce the news. The sequel will be written and directed by Chris Sanders, who co-created the original 2002 animated film and provides the voice for Stitch. Unlike the first live-action film, which was a retelling of the original story, this sequel is expected to present a brand-new narrative.
Production is slated to begin in Hawaiʻi later this year. ‘Lilo & Stitch 2’ is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 26, 2028, following the massive box office success of the first live-action adaptation, which grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
