Disney announces new attractions for Walt Disney World Resort

Disney has revealed details regarding several upcoming expansions and attractions at its Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. A major highlight is the development of Villains Land at Magic Kingdom, which will feature a high-thrill roller coaster themed after Maleficent from the 1959 film ‘Sleeping Beauty’. This coaster is expected to draw inspiration from the artwork of Eyvind Earle and will take riders through the Forbidden Mountain and Fortress.

Other planned developments include the Tropical Americas area at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, inspired by the cultures of Mexico, Central America, and South America. This area will host attractions such as ‘Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto’ and ‘Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent’. Additionally, Magic Kingdom will see a renovation of the Carousel of Progress scheduled for spring 2027, and Frontierland will expand to include Piston Peak, a new area inspired by the ‘Cars’ franchise.
