Toy Story 5 to stream on Disney+ starting September 23

Pixar’s “Toy Story 5” is scheduled to begin streaming on Disney+ on September 23. Following a highly successful theatrical run that earned over $1.1 billion worldwide, the film explores the tension between traditional toys and modern technology, specifically focusing on a tablet named Lilypad that competes for the attention of the character Bonnie.

The film, directed by Andrew Stanton, features the return of iconic characters including Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie. Cast members have noted the film’s timely themes regarding screen time and the evolving relationship between children and physical play.

In addition to the Disney+ debut, the film will be available on physical formats including 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD starting September 22. The franchise's expansion also includes a new “The Great Toy Rescue” experience within the game Fortnite.
