Disney announces Spider-Man and Stark Expo expansions for Asian parks

Disney has announced significant expansions for its Asian theme parks. Shanghai Disneyland is developing its ninth themed land, a Spider-Man-themed area featuring a new coaster, Spider-Bots, and the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (W.E.B.). Ride track installation for the new coaster was completed in June, with vehicle testing expected to begin soon.

In Hong Kong, Disneyland is developing the Stark Expo within Tomorrowland. This area will include a new Spider-Man attraction and an Avengers pavilion designed as a landmark for the Avengers Research Testing Labs. The pavilion is expected to feature a drop tower experience similar to the Guardians of the Galaxy attraction.

Beyond these specific lands, Shanghai Disneyland is planning upgrades to the Soaring Over the Horizon attraction, the construction of two new themed hotels, and a residential complex for staff. Since its opening in 2016, the Shanghai resort has welcomed over 100 million visitors.
