Disney announces major film and theme park roadmap at D23
During the D23 fan event in Anaheim, Disney revealed an extensive roadmap for its film, streaming, and theme park divisions. Major cinematic announcements include the release of Avengers: Doomsday in December 2026, Frozen 3 in November 2027, and Lilo & Stitch 2 in May 2028. Marvel Studios also detailed new casting for its X-Men project, featuring actors such as Samara Weaving and Kit Connor.
In the theme park sector, Disney announced significant expansions. Walt Disney World will introduce a Tropical Americas area at Animal Kingdom, featuring attractions inspired by Encanto and Indiana Jones. Disneyland in California will undergo a major renovation of Tomorrowland. Internationally, Disneyland Paris will rebrand its Space Mountain attraction to Space Mountain – De la Terre à la Lune by late 2027.
Disney Cruise Line also shared updates, noting that the Disney Believe is scheduled to begin service in late 2027, with plans to expand the fleet to 13 ships by 2029.
