Disney announces upcoming live-action and animated film projects

Walt Disney is expanding its cinematic offerings with both live-action and animated projects. The live-action adaptation of ‘Moana’ (Oceania), directed by Thomas Kail, follows the journey of Moana, a young woman from the island of Motunui. To save her people from a famine, she must find the demigod Maui, played by Dwayne Johnson, and return the heart of the goddess Te Fiti.

Additionally, Walt Disney Animation Studios has announced its 65th original animated feature, ‘Hexe: Il Regno delle Streghe’. The film follows an impulsive teenager named Billie who accidentally discovers magical powers, leading her to a hidden magical realm. The movie is scheduled for release in Italian theaters on November 26, 2026.
