Disney+ announces X‑Men ’97 Season 2 premiere on July 1

Marvel Animation released the first trailer for the second season of the animated series X‑Men ’97, confirming that new episodes will debut on Disney+ on 1 July. The nine‑episode season continues the story across the 1990s, the present and the future, with the mutant team confronting the villain Apocalypse in multiple time periods.

The season features a new voice cast for Apocalypse, with Cal Dodd taking over the role, and marks a change in showrunner to Matthew Chauncey after the departure of Beau DeMayo. A prequel comic titled X‑Men ’97: Season Two will launch on 3 June, expanding the storyline.

The series, praised for its blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling, has become one of Disney+’s most‑watched original animations, earning a 99% Rotten Tomatoes rating.
