Disney confirms Zootopia 3 is in development

Walt Disney Animation Studios has officially confirmed that Zootopia 3 is in development. The announcement was made during the D23 fan event in Anaheim by Chief Creative Officer Jared Bush, alongside voice actors Ginnifer Goodwin and Ke Huy Quan.

Following the massive commercial success of Zootopia 2, which grossed approximately $1.8 billion worldwide and became the studio's highest-grossing animated film, the franchise is set to expand its ecosystem. The upcoming third installment is expected to introduce birds into the animal metropolis for the first time, a narrative direction teased by a feather in the post-credits scene of the previous film.

Ginnifer Goodwin, who voices Judy Hopps, and Ke Huy Quan, who voices Gary De’Snake, confirmed their return to the franchise. While specific plot details and a release date have not yet been finalized, the studio indicated that early development and concept work are underway.
