Disney names Carol Choi as Asia Pacific President
The Walt Disney Company has announced that Carol Choi will become the President of Asia Pacific, effective December 1. Choi, currently the Executive Vice President of Media Marketing and Local Content for the region, succeeds Luke Kang, who is retiring after 16 years with the company.
In her new role, Choi will oversee Disney Entertainment’s entire business portfolio across the Asia Pacific region. This includes studios, Disney+, local original content production, consumer products, media networks, and content sales. Her leadership will cover a vast territory including South Korea, Japan, Greater China, Southeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
Choi is a 20-year veteran of Disney, having previously served as Managing Director for both Disney Japan and Disney Korea. She played a significant role in the regional launch and expansion of Disney+. Luke Kang, who joined Disney in 2011, is credited with driving digital innovation and strengthening the company’s presence in North Asia and the broader APAC market.
