Disney+ begins production on Far Cry anthology series

Disney+ has announced the start of production for a new anthology series based on Ubisoft’s ‘Far Cry’ video game franchise. The series will feature original, self-contained stories in each season with new characters and settings, rather than direct adaptations of specific games, utilizing a narrative approach similar to ‘Fargo’.

The production features an expansive cast including Brendan Gleeson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Steve Buscemi, Lizzy Caplan, Hamish Linklater, Sam Spruell, and Jamie Demetriou. The project is led by executive producers and creators Noah Hawley and Rob McElhenney (also cited as Rob Mac).

The series aims to capture the essence of the franchise, including its exotic locales and open-world atmosphere, and will be available exclusively on Disney+ globally.
