Disney Believe reaches major construction milestone in Germany

Disney Cruise Line has reached a major construction milestone for its upcoming vessel, the Disney Believe, with the completion of a keel-laying ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. Following the float-out of the ship’s first gigablock in mid-September, work has transitioned to the second gigablock.

As part of the maritime tradition, a specially crafted coin featuring a portrait of Tinker Bell was placed under the ship’s keel to bring good luck to the vessel and its future crew. The Disney Believe is the ninth addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet and the fourth ship in the Wish class.

Disney is scheduled to host a livestream on October 7 to reveal further details about the ship. Previously announced design elements include a bow image of Tinker Bell, a stern image featuring Woody and Buzz, and a Grand Hall statue of Moana. The vessel will also feature themes inspired by Disney franchises such as Frozen, Encanto, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
