Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro unveils ‘One Disney’ integration strategy
Josh D'Amaro, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, has introduced a new strategic vision called ‘One Disney’ to unify the company’s various business segments. Moving away from operating isolated divisions, the strategy aims to integrate streaming, theme parks, consumer products, and film into a single cohesive ecosystem.
A key component of this integration involves Disney+. The company intends to transform the streaming service into a digital extension of its D23 fan community, incorporating interactive elements such as gaming, official merchandise sales, and connections to global theme park attractions. D'Amaro emphasized that the goal is to leverage the company’s global brands as a unified entity to maintain a competitive advantage.
In a separate development, Bob Iger, who continues to work with Disney, has partnered with Josh Kushner’s Thrive Eternal to acquire the Los Angeles Lakers. This acquisition follows a rapid series of transactions involving the team, which was previously owned by Mark Walter of Guggenheim Partners.
