Disney confirms Star Wars: The Mandalorian remake

Disney and Lucasfilm have confirmed a remake of the flagship Disney+ series ‘The Mandalorian’ as part of an evolution of the ‘Mando-Verse’. The new iteration of the franchise will notably exclude the character Cara Dune, played by Gina Carano.

Carano was a central figure in the original series, portraying a former Rebel Alliance shock trooper and ally to Din Djarin. Lucasfilm severed ties with Carano in 2021 following controversial social media activity, a move that led to a lawsuit against the studio. While the details of a settlement between Carano and Disney were not made public, the upcoming remake marks a significant shift in the franchise's direction.
