Disney confirms Zootopia 3 is in development

Walt Disney Animation Studios has officially confirmed that Zootopia 3 is in development. The announcement was made by creative director and Zootopia director Jared Bush during the D23 Expo.

While an official release date has not been set, the third installment is expected to follow the success of Zootopia 2, which became the highest-grossing American animated film ever, earning $1.85 billion globally. The new film is expected to introduce birds to the animal metropolis, expanding the species seen in previous entries.

Confirmed returning characters include Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde. The plot details remain under wraps, but the film will likely build upon the world established in the first two movies.
