Disney Conservation Fund invests $1 million in Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots
The Disney Conservation Fund has announced a $1 million investment in Roots & Shoots, the youth program of the Jane Goodall Institute. This contribution brings Disney’s total investment in the program to over $7.5 million.
The announcement coincided with a conservation summit at Walt Disney World Resort, where ten youth conservation leaders from the United States gathered to celebrate environmental stewardship. These participants were selected via the ‘Hop into the Animal Kingdom Challenge,’ a collaboration marking the 30th anniversary of the Disney Conservation Fund and the release of the Disney and Pixar film, Hoppers.
Participants engaged in immersive experiences at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and EPCOT, receiving insights from experts in veterinary science, animal care, and conservation. Additionally, each youth leader was paired with a Disney mentor to provide career and educational coaching over the following year.
