Disney D23 fan event begins in Anaheim with major announcements

The D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event is taking place from August 14 to 16 at the Anaheim Convention Center and nearby venues in California. The biennial convention features a variety of panels, showcases, and immersive experiences for fans, including a 4D theatre and exclusive merchandise opportunities.

Disney+ will provide global livestreams for several major presentations. Key scheduled programming includes the 35th anniversary celebration of ‘Beauty and the Beast’, a panel regarding the third season of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’, the ‘Disney Rewind Encore Concert’, and the ‘Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase’. The event will conclude with the Disney Legends Awards Ceremony, which honors 13 individuals including Anne Hathaway, Dwayne Johnson, and Bob Iger.

Other highlighted segments include a Kingdom Hearts presentation featuring Square Enix and voice actors, and potential updates regarding Star Wars projects such as ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’ and ‘Ahsoka’ season 2.
