Disney Dream crew alleges poisoning in Vigo

On 24 July, a crew member of the Disney Dream cruise ship, docked in Vigo, Spain, reported feeling ill after drinking water and claimed a colleague had added a substance—suspected to be chlorine—to her bottle. The Argentine‑national photographer was first treated by the ship’s medical team and then transferred to Hospital Fátima, where she filed a police complaint naming the other crew member. Both the Spanish National Police and the Guardia Civil opened an investigation, with forensic scientists set to analyse the water sample. No arrests have been reported.

The Disney Dream was on a seven‑night positioning voyage that visited Barcelona, Cartagena, Málaga, Vigo and A Coruña before heading to Southampton, carrying over 3 800 passengers (mostly from the United States and the United Kingdom) and 1 439 crew members. This is not the first incident involving the line; a passenger evacuation was previously required on a sister ship, the Disney Fantasy, in early August.
