Disney engineer utilizes multiple autonomous AI agents to accelerate workflows

A software engineer at Disney has emerged as a top user on the company’s internal AI Adoption Dashboard by simultaneously operating between eight and nine autonomous AI agents. Unlike standard chatbots that respond to single prompts, these agents execute complete work sequences, such as gathering data from various departments and reviewing code, based on human instructions.

The engineer reported that tasks previously requiring days or weeks are now completed within hours. The autonomous agents are also used to cross-check each other's work to minimize errors. This method has drawn significant interest from colleagues seeking to replicate the workflow.

Disney’s internal monitoring system tracks approximately 4,800 professionals within the Disney Entertainment and ESPN technology and product divisions. The dashboard monitors usage and token consumption—the basic data units used for billing—across programming tools such as Anthropic’s Claude and Cursor. Data from a nine-day period in April 2026 indicated massive scale, with Claude usage reaching an estimated $185,000 in costs and Cursor usage totaling 13.3 billion tokens.
