Disney expands footprint near Disneyland Resort with $115M office purchase

The Walt Disney Company is making significant investments and operational adjustments surrounding the Disneyland Resort. Disney has reportedly purchased a 25-acre office campus near the resort for $115 million. The property, formerly owned by Yamaha Motor Corp, is located approximately six miles from the western edge of the resort. Yamaha is expected to vacate the site by 2028, leasing the space from Disney in the interim.

The acquisition comes amid the multi-year DisneylandForward expansion project, which includes the demolition of existing resort office buildings to accommodate new infrastructure like parking structures. This new campus may serve as replacement office space for the expanding resort.

In terms of park operations, Disneyland has confirmed upcoming seasonal refurbishments. The attraction ‘it’s a small world’ is scheduled to close on October 30, 2026, to undergo its annual holiday transformation. The ride is expected to reopen on November 13, 2026, as ‘it’s a small world’ Holiday.
