Disney explores personalized ride technology and updates park safety rules

Disney is exploring new technologies to personalize theme park experiences through a recently published patent application. The system, titled “Personalized Notification of Attractions Including User Preferences or Aversions,” aims to learn guest preferences and aversions to recommend attractions or provide real-time warnings. The technology could potentially adjust ride elements such as lighting, sound, and motion, or even increase G-forces for thrill-seekers within safety limits.

Separately, Disneyland has implemented stricter safety measures at the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure log-flume ride. New signage warns guests that failure to remain seated will result in removal from the park. This policy update follows safety concerns, including a recent incident where a teenager climbed out of the ride and fell 50 feet. Similar warnings have also been placed at the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! attraction.
