Disney+ faces consumer demands over removed Premium features
Disney+ is facing pressure from consumer protection groups regarding its Premium subscription tier. In France, the organization Que Choisir Ensemble is demanding that the streaming service either restore technical features or lower subscription prices and provide compensation to affected customers.
The dispute centers on the removal of HDR and Dolby Vision support from the Premium tier, despite the monthly cost remaining at 15.99 euros. Consumer advocates argue that the lack of these advertised high-quality formats constitutes a service deficiency.
Similar issues have been reported in Germany, where consumer centers noted in July that the absence of promised technical features could be considered a defect. Subscribers who chose the more expensive tier specifically for enhanced image and sound quality may be eligible for partial refunds under certain conditions.
