Disney+ gains 1.1 million UK homes in Q2 2026

Data from Barb's Q2 2026 Establishment Survey reveals that 20.7 million UK homes, or 69.7%, had access to a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service, a slight decrease from 20.8 million in Q1 2026.

Disney+ experienced the most significant growth, adding 1.1 million homes to reach 8.9 million (29.9% market share). This surge is attributed to a March partnership that included Disney+ with ads in eligible Sky packages at no extra cost. Consequently, 40% of Disney+ homes are now on its ad tier.

Other service shifts include: • Netflix: 18 million homes (60.4%), down from 18.1 million. Its ad tier grew to 41% of its user base. • Amazon Prime Video: 13.6 million homes (45.9%), down from 13.7 million. Notably, 89% of its homes are on the ad tier. • Paramount+: Increased to 4 million homes. • Discovery+: Rose to 3.7 million homes. • Apple TV: Decreased to 2.8 million homes. • NOW: Remained stable at 2 million homes.
