Disney+ orders ‘Darkwing Duck’ reboot starring Mark Hamill and Seth Rogen

Darkwing Duck Disney+ animated series reboot voice cast

Disney+ has officially greenlit a reboot of the animated series ‘Darkwing Duck’. The new series will feature a high-profile voice cast, led by Mark Hamill as the titular hero, Drake Mallard. Seth Rogen will voice Launchpad McQuack and also serve as an executive producer through his company, Point Grey Pictures.

The plot follows Darkwing Duck, who has been trapped in an alternate universe for 35 years where no one knows of his heroic deeds. He is pulled back into action by a rebellious teenager named Duckie. The ensemble cast includes Lizzy Caplan as Gosalyn Mallard, Lilimar as Duckie, Dan Stevens, Kathryn Newton, and others.

This revival marks a significant casting change, as Jim Cummings, who voiced the character in the original 1991 series and the 2017 ‘DuckTales’ reboot, will not be returning for this iteration. Original series creator Tad Stones is serving as a consultant on the project, which is being executive produced by Sean Tretta and Borja Peña Gorostegui.
