Disney announces park closures and new land construction

Disney is implementing several major changes and construction projects across its global theme parks. At Tokyo Disneyland, Cinderella’s Fairy Tale Hall is scheduled to close on October 1, 2026, for an unspecified period. The attraction, which offers a walkthrough experience of the 1950 animated film, currently has no announced reopening date.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, construction is underway to transform the Muppets Courtyard and Grand Avenue into the new Monsters, Inc.-themed land, Monstropolis. The project involves a phased opening, with most of the land expected to debut in 2027. While new dining locations like Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza and The Glob theater are being prepared, the land’s major suspended door coaster is expected to be one of the final elements to open.
