Disney hosts inaugural ‘Created in LA’ event for digital creators

Disney hosted its inaugural two-day event, ‘Created in LA’, designed to foster collaboration between major industry leaders and digital content creators. The event, conceived by media personality and creator Jon Youshaei, brought together over 350 creators, innovators, and executives to explore the future of creator-led storytelling and the business of the creator economy.

The kickoff took place at the historic El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, featuring the theater’s first-ever red carpet premiere of creator-made videos. Screenings included ‘The Technoblade Movie’ by the filmmaking duo Sticks and Zach King’s ‘Cardboard Wars’.

During the event, Disney executives, including President and Chief Creative Officer Dana Walden, discussed potential partnerships between traditional media and digital creators. Youshaei noted that the attendees represent a massive global reach, with a combined following of over 1.6 billion across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
