Disney+ increases subscription prices in the United States

Disney is increasing subscription prices for its Disney+ streaming service in the United States. The ad-free Premium plan is rising by $2.50, moving from $18.99 to $21.49 per month. The ad-supported tier will also see a smaller increase of $0.50, rising from $11.99 to $12.49.

This marks the fourth price hike within a four-year period. Since its US launch in 2019 at $6.99 per month, the ad-free cost has more than tripled. The new Premium price now exceeds the ad-free offering from Netflix. While these changes are currently effective for new customers in the US, with existing subscribers seeing changes at their next billing cycle, no official price increases have been announced for the German market yet.
