Emmy Rossum leads new Hulu thriller 'Furious' debuting on Disney+

The eight‑episode crime drama Furious premiered on Hulu and Disney+ on July 27, 2026, with the first three episodes released simultaneously and new episodes arriving weekly thereafter. Created by Elizabeth Meriwether and loosely inspired by the 1987 film Black Widow, the series follows former NYPD homicide detective Alice Black (Emmy Rossum), now an FBI agent, as she hunts a female serial killer known only as Catherine (Lola Petticrew), who targets wealthy men linked to a child‑trafficking ring. Supporting cast includes Scoot McNairy, Quincy Tyler Bernstine and Jake Lacy. Critics have highlighted the show's focus on female rage, its moral ambiguity and its departure from the original film’s male‑gaze premise, earning high approval ratings on Rotten Tomatoes. In promotion, Rossum halted a realistic BB‑gun training scene, saying it became "too real." The series is available in the United States via Hulu and internationally on Disney+.
