Disney+ launches Star Wars: Visions – A Nona Jedi anime series on August 5

Disney+ will debut an eight‑episode anime series titled *Star Wars: Visions – A Nona Jedi* on 5 August. The show continues the story of Lah Kara, a young Jedi trainee, after the events of the earlier short films, following her quest to rescue her father with the guidance of Margrave Juro. Produced by Lucasfilm in partnership with Japan’s Production I.G., the series was unveiled at Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles. Creative leads include supervising director Kenji Kamiyama, director Shunsuke Tada, and writer Mitsuyasu Sakai, with executive producers James Waugh, Jacqui López, Josh Rimes, Justin Leach and Mitsuhisa Ishikawa. English voice talent features Kimiko Glenn, Andrew Kishino, Masi Oka, Simu Liu and others, while the original Japanese cast includes Chinatsu Akasaki and Akio Otsuka. The miniseries expands the *Star Wars: Visions* anthology with a longer narrative format, aiming to deepen the franchise’s anime‑style storytelling for global fans.
