Disney+ launches Star Wars: Visions – The Ninth Jedi animated series
Disney+ will debut the eight‑episode anime continuation "Star Wars: Visions – The Ninth Jedi" on 5 August. The series follows Lah Kara, the daughter of a legendary sabersmith, as she trains under Jedi Master Margrave Juro and searches for her captured father in a future where the Jedi and Sith have vanished.
The trailer, shown at a special panel during Anime Expo, reveals that Kara’s lightsabers change color with the wielder’s heart. The show is directed by Shunsuke Tada, written by Mitsuyasu Sakai and supervised by Kenji Kamiyama. Voice talent includes Chinatsu Akasaki (Lah Kara) and, in the English dub, Kimiko Glenn as Kara, with Simu Liu as Lah Zhima. The series will be available on Disney+ worldwide and on Hulu in the United States.
