Disney licenses select shows and movies to Netflix

Disney is expanding its content reach through a new licensing deal that brings select Disney+ titles to Netflix. Starting October 4, Netflix subscribers can access the first two seasons of ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ and the complete ‘Ice Age’ film series from 20th Century Studios.

The ‘Percy Jackson’ series is available on Netflix for a limited promotional window, likely lasting until early January 2027, ahead of the third season’s premiere on Disney+ on November 20. While this deal expands Netflix’s library, Marvel and Star Wars content will remain exclusive to Disney+.

Additional content scheduled to arrive on Netflix includes the series ‘Will Trent’, ‘Shifting Gears’, and ‘Tracker’. By 2027, the platform will also host Disney Animation and Pixar films such as ‘Soul’, ‘Elio’, and ‘Raya and the Last Dragon’. Other series joining the platform include ‘Felicity’, ‘This is Us’, ‘Revenge’, ‘Army Wives’, and ‘Fresh Off the Boat’.
