Disney Lorcana announces Hyperia City expansion and new mechanics

Ravensburger has announced Hyperia City, the 14th set for the Disney Lorcana trading card game, scheduled for release in October 2026. The expansion introduces players to a bustling metropolis inspired by the spirit of Disney’s parks and animation history.

The set features various neighborhoods, including City Center, Old Towne Hyperia, and the Marigold District, which will mark the Lorcana debut of characters from Coco. It also introduces the Multidisciplinary Academy for Genius, Imagination, and Creativity (M.A.G.I.C.), a location where Big Hero 6 characters research new technology.

A major gameplay innovation debuting with this set is the ‘ink drops’ mechanic. Unlike the standard Inkwell, which serves as a renewable resource, ink drops act as one-time-use counters. Players can expend these counters to pay for one ink instead of discarding cards, allowing for new strategic possibilities and interactions across all six ink colors.
