Disney Lorcana announces Hyperia City expansion and new ink drop mechanic

Disney Lorcana is releasing its fourteenth booster set, Hyperia City, featuring an urban magical metropolis setting. The expansion includes characters from Pixar’s Coco, Big Hero 6, and The Sword and the Stone.

A major gameplay addition is the introduction of ‘ink drops,’ which function as temporary, one-time use floating mana. These resources allow players to accrue extra ink to play high-cost cards earlier than usual or trigger specific card abilities. Lead designer Lukas Litzsinger noted that this mechanic has the potential to ‘completely change the tempo of a game.’

The set will have pre-release events beginning October 16, 2026, followed by a wide release on October 23, 2026. New pre-constructed two-player starter sets, titled ‘Technically Terrific’ and ‘Madcap Whimsy,’ will also be available.
