Disney marks 75th anniversary of 'Alice in Wonderland' with restoration

The Walt Disney Company is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its 1951 animated feature **Alice in Wonderland**. To mark the milestone Disney is showcasing the film’s history through special screenings, educational programs, archival exhibitions and a newly restored version that restores the original colour vibrancy and detail.

The celebration also highlights Disney’s earlier work on the **Alice Comedies** in the 1920s, the half‑million drawings created for the 1951 movie, and the use of live‑action reference footage. Disney legend **Kathryn Beaumont**, who voiced Alice, also served as the live‑action model for the character. The restoration and related events were featured at the D23 fan convention.
