Disney pushes live‑action remake slate despite Moana flop

Disney released a live‑action version of its 2016 animated hit “Moana.” Critics note that the film closely mirrors the original, offering limited new content, and it performed poorly at the box office. Despite the disappointing results, the studio is proceeding with its next live‑action adaptation, “Tangled.” Recent set photos from the Spanish shoot reveal that the Stabbington Brothers, the film’s villains, will be portrayed by identical twins Patrick and Hugo McPherson, each standing 6 ft 7 in tall. The casting also includes Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, and Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel, with Diego Luna in an undisclosed role. Director Michael Gracey helms the project from a screenplay by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson and Michael Montemayor.
