Disney raises prices for Disney+ and Hulu streaming subscriptions

The Walt Disney Company has announced subscription price increases for several of its streaming services, including Disney+ and Hulu. This marks the fourth consecutive year of price hikes for the media giant.

Standalone ad-free plans for both Disney+ and Hulu will increase by $2.50, bringing the monthly cost to $21.49. Ad-supported versions of both services will rise by $0.50 to $12.49 per month. For customers seeking both services, the ad-free bundle will increase by $2 to $21.99 per month, while the Disney+ and Hulu ad-supported bundle will remain at $12.99.

Other bundle options involving ESPN or HBO Max will also see increases ranging from $2 to $3. These changes take effect immediately for new subscribers, while existing customers will see the new rates applied to their next billing cycle. This move follows a broader industry trend of streaming platforms raising costs to improve profitability, similar to recent adjustments made by competitors like Netflix, Apple TV, and Peacock.
