Disney re-releases Encanto in Colombia to aid earthquake victims
The Walt Disney Animation Studios film, Encanto, will return to Colombian cinemas starting November 12 to support communities affected by the earthquake that occurred on August 10.
In a collaborative initiative between Disney and Cinecolor Colombia, royalties from the film's box office will be donated to the Colombian Red Cross (Cundinamarca and Bogotá sections). These funds are intended for humanitarian aid, care, and recovery efforts in the departments of Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Quindío, Risaralda, and Caldas. Additionally, Disney will provide a direct economic contribution to assist in the reconstruction of the impacted territories.
The Oscar-winning film, which is inspired by Colombian culture, aims to leverage its connection to the country to foster solidarity. While specific cinema chains have not yet been fully confirmed, screenings are expected in various cities, including Cali, Manizales, Pereira, and Armenia.
