Disney+ reveals trailer for Messi and the Giants animated series

Disney+ has released the first trailer for ‘Messi and the Giants’, an animated series inspired by the childhood of football star Lionel Messi. The trailer was debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con Málaga in Spain.

The series follows a 12-year-old boy named Leo who is transported to a fantasy universe called Iko. To return home, Leo must compete in high-stakes tournaments involving ‘spheres’ and battle legendary giants. Unlike other characters, Leo lacks magical powers, relying instead on his skill, teamwork, and determination.

Lionel Messi serves as an executive producer for the project. The production involves Atlantis Animation, Sony Pictures Television, and Sony Music Vision. Milo Burgess-Webb provides the Spanish voice for Leo, while Luck Ra is responsible for the series' music. The series is scheduled for a global release on Disney+ in the summer of 2027, with a Disney Channel release in the United States.
