Disney launches new Moana song “Along The Way” featuring Lin‑Manuel Miranda, Auli‘i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson

Disney has released an original song titled “Along The Way” for its upcoming live‑action adaptation of Moana, scheduled to debut in theaters on July 10, 2026. The track was written by award‑winning composer Lin‑Manuel Miranda, who said, “It was such a joy to drop back into the world of ‘Moana’ again and write ‘Along The Way’.” It features the voices of Auli‘i Cravalho, the original animated Moana, Catherine Laga‘aia, who plays Moana in the live‑action version, and Dwayne Johnson reprising his role as Maui. Laga‘aia described the song as “the perfect symbolism for this movie.”

The release includes a music video and a behind‑the‑scenes featurette that highlight the collaboration across three generations of Moana talent. Disney’s broader soundtrack rollout will see the Moana Original Soundtrack arrive on June 26, a deluxe edition on July 8, and a standalone score on July 10. A companion album, “Moana: Voices Across The Ocean,” featuring Pacific artists, is slated for digital release on July 31, 2026.
