Disney+ removes 4K and HDR from Premium plan in Brazil
Disney+ has removed 4K UHD and HDR capabilities from its Premium subscription tier in Brazil, limiting video resolution to 1080p HD. Despite this technical downgrade, the monthly subscription price remains unchanged at R$ 69.90.
The change occurred without direct communication to existing subscribers. While the Premium plan no longer lists 4K, HDR, or Dolby Vision on its official subscription page, it retains other features such as Dolby Atmos audio, support for four simultaneous devices, ad-free viewing, offline downloads, and access to ESPN live sports channels.
When contacted regarding the change, Disney+ representatives stated that these features are “temporarily available”. The exact cause for the removal has not been officially confirmed, though some reports suggest a potential connection to a September 2025 judicial decision involving InterDigital.
