Disney restores ‘Alice in Wonderland’ for 75th anniversary

The Walt Disney Studios’ Restoration and Library Management department has completed a restoration of the 1951 animated classic ‘Alice in Wonderland’ to commemorate its 75th anniversary. The project, led by Director of Restoration and Library Management Kevin, involved extensive research to preserve the film’s original design and integrity.

The restoration process included locating the highest-quality original prints and consulting with long-serving animation artists to ensure color accuracy. The team also utilized original concept art and production notes from the Disney Animation Research Library to guide the technical work. This effort aimed to maintain the visual legacy of the film for its special re-release.
