Disney reveals first image and details for ‘Coco 2’ sequel

Disney has revealed the first official image and release details for ‘Coco 2’, the sequel to the 2017 animated hit. During the D23 event, the studio showcased a preview featuring an adolescent Miguel alongside his dog, Dante.

Benjamin Bratt is set to return as Ernesto de la Cruz. According to reports, the plot involves de la Cruz seeking revenge against Miguel for ruining his career and legacy, forcing the protagonist to ally with his former rival within the Land of the Dead.

Original director Lee Unkrich returns to lead the project alongside Adrian Molina, with Mark Nielsen handling production. This sequel is part of Pixar’s strategy to expand its most profitable franchises, following the massive commercial success of films like ‘Toy Story 5’ and ‘Inside Out 2’.
