Disney reveals major Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar roadmap at D23

The D23 event has unveiled a major roadmap for Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars content spanning from 2026 to 2029. Key highlights include the official confirmation of the X-Men entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in a film directed by Jake Schreier, scheduled for May 2028.

In the Star Wars franchise, announcements include the film ‘Starfighter’ starring Ryan Gosling and Matt Smith, as well as a theatrical re-release of the original 1977 ‘A New Hope’. Concept art for the second season of the ‘Ahsoka’ series was also revealed, featuring the droid Huyang in a combat-ready pose.

Pixar and Disney Animation projects include ‘Frozen III’ (2027), ‘The Incredibles 3’ (2028), ‘Coco 2’ (2029), and ‘Zootopia 3’. Live-action adaptations such as ‘Tangled’ and ‘Lilo & Stitch 2’ are also slated for release in 2028.
